There are more than 600 mine shafts called "mabu" in the area. Only two, Ryugenji Mabu and Okubo Mabu, are open to the public and Ryugenji Mabu is easier to access.  Chisel marks on the walls will lead you to imagine what it was like to work here as miners.

*Opening hours:Every Day 9.00am-5.00pm except the year and holidays  (closed at 4.00pm through Nov.24 to Mar.19)
*Admission:400 yen (200 yen for children)
